Interview with Stephane Vigroux
Posted by misterparkour on February 23, 2009A few days ago one of our members in the MisterParkour.com International Forum posted a link to a spectacular video featuring Stephane Vigroux. The video was so good that we have decided to add the video to the MisterParkour.com library which is what we have done in this post.
The short documentary below, by Craig Pentak, features an extensive interview with Stephane Vigroux intermittent with scenes of Parkour training in London. During the interview Stephane talks about the origin and history of Parkour, the Yamakasi, and the word Tracer. He also discusses the mental aspects of Parkour, and his own personal journey finding Parkour and establishing Parkour Generations. In addition, Stephane discusses the obstacles he feels the art of Parkour is currently facing including the push by some to commercialize Parkour and promote Parkour competitions. To this end the documentary is concluded with Stephane discussing his own views, including David Belle’s and Sebastién Foucan’s opinions, of the recent World Freerun Championships.
This video is definitely a must see for everyone in the community; great insight from one of the humblest and most skilled practitioners on the planet.

excellent excellent interview, it’s the best interview i ever watched,,so many thanks to you for sharing,,it really brithened many thoughts in mind and i totally agree with what stephane says,it’s awfuly what’s happening , parkour or ADD is so close to the media, and people been folowing their ego to commercialize Parkour and promote Parkour competitions.because most traceurs are blinded by these tricks,,,
the world championship ?? i personaly do not agree, parkour is against competitions, may be as stephane said, a world international gathering, this would be the best event ever, that’s what i am looking for,in assistance with the Moroccan federation of urban soprts/cultures, we would like to help people knowing alot about this sport and to correct the misunderstanding opinions and thoughts about this sport, this holy sport i consider
it seems Parkour generation has the same goals ,that’s great really
……
thanks for sharing this awesome interesting topic
P£@C£ of mind
Awesome video! I totally agree with parkour not being about competition…so many times when your out training a friend says come on do this big jump i can do it, when really its not about out doing the other person its about knowing your limits and training hard…set your goals and train to reach them! fantastic…
